Spend time in prayer and silence with God asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.
Bible Reading
In that day, there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. In that day, Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel My inheritance.”
– Isaiah 19:23-25
Devotion
God’s passion for relationship is with those He has made in His image. Although this was directed to the Jews, the New Testament amplifies God’s heart for every human being to know Him and to be brought under His mercy and salvation. His holiness is an immutable attribute of His divinity. He cannot change it but He has made a provision for it through His divine Son, sinless and willing to become one of us to redeem us from God’s holy wrath. Christ bore His Father’s wrath against sin for our sake. He is a God of love, and a God of justice. He is incredibly long-suffering in His mercy and patience. So many warnings, so many chances to turn back. May we lean into His indescribable love and choose to believe that He is for us. For ALL of us!
The Big Question
Scripture declares, “He (God) is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). God was reconciling the world to Himself through Christ. His desire is for everyone to be reconciled and brought back into a right relationship with Himself. Where do you stand with God today? Have you trusted in the person and work of Christ for your soul’s salvation? If not, what is holding you back from experiencing God’s love and forgiveness? Pastor Bob has often said, “The Bible is a love story. God lost something and He wants it back.” Have you found your way back to the One who gave Himself for you?
Conclude your time in prayer and silence meditating on what God revealed to you today.
