Christmas Eve at Oak Pointe

Around Christmas time, we tend to think about giving, who we’re giving to, who expects us to give to them, and how stressful it is to have to give all these presents (find them, buy them, wrap them, ship them).

In the midst of the holiday shuffle, do we think carefully, and with gladness of heart, about how much God gives to us, and how Advent is all about God giving to us? Advent is nothing if not God’s generous heart toward us on display.

For thousands of years God prepared the arrival of Jesus Christ for our salvation, and then he brought it to pass. Our Father in heaven pulled out all the stops to flood us with his love in Christ.

His generous love overcomes our poverty and greed and turns us into people who imitate our Father’s generosity in every way on every occasion.
